2 cups flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar (available in spice department)
2 cups water
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
food color (optional)
Mix dry ingredients together in saucepan. In separate bowl, mix liquids, adding drops of food color until you reach desired shade. Pour liquid over dry ingredients and stir. Don't worry about lumps. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture holds together and gets stiff, about 5-10 minutes. Let cool, then knead. Store in airtight container.
